Innovation at Infré: A new process for the natural decaffeination of tea

After years of research in collaboration with the Swiss University of Applied Sciences ZHAW in Wädenswil, Zürich and with the support of Innosuisse, our company has reached a significant milestone with the development of a purely natural method for decaffeinating tea.
We are pleased to advise that our new production line is in operation, on which we are now decaffeinating green and black tea using our proprietary method for natural decaffeination. The process uses exclusively pure water as a solvent to gently remove caffeine from the tea leaf.
During the entire development process the primary focus was to preserve the original character of the tea. This gentle method creates a very pleasant and authentic tasting experience, free from any non-tea off-flavours.
We have successfully patented this innovative technology and now hold patent protection in the USA, Europe, Great Britain, Japan, among others.
As pioneers in this field, it gives us great pleasure to offer this innovative solution to our customers. We also see this as an ideal opportunity for our partners looking for a solution to expand their range with high-quality teas processed entirely with water as a natural solvent.
